The Southeastern Railway Museum will showcase antique tractors and vehicles during the museum’s Trains, Trucks & Tractors special event this August.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, and Saturday, Aug. 6, and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7. During the event, participants will display a range of antique tractors and vehicles not generally on display at the museum.

The event will also feature wagon rides (for a small donation), and food will be available for guests to purchase. Food vendors include:

The special visiting exhibits and other activities are included in regular museum admission, and guests can also purchase rides on the museum’s restored antique handcar. Visiting exhibits will arrive and depart at different times throughout the event, and event offerings are contingent upon the weather.

On Saturday, Aug 6, the museum will offer a limited number of cab rides on the restored Southern Railways EMD E8a #6901. Advance tickets are required for this activity.

Confirmed invited special exhibitors include:

  • A fire engine from Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services (part of a day each day, subject to calls)
  • Rollover simulator from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (Saturday)
  • Gwinnett County Transit express route bus
  • Antique trucks and tractors from a number of private collections
  • Handcar rides on the museum’s restored handcar
