Gwinnett County Public Library Learning Labs Hosts Annual Photo Exhibition

The opening of Gwinnett County’s 2023 Annual Photo Exhibition will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at the Gwinnett Country Public Library’s Duluth branch.

This year’s theme, Altered, explores eccentric and unique perspectives on typical landscapes, objects and more.

Throughout the months of July and August, applicants submitted their entries for a chance to have their work exhibited and published during the Atlanta Celebrates Photography Festival.

This year’s applicants are juried by Stephanie Dowda DeMar, an Atlanta-based photographer and experimental media artist. Dowda’s work has been published in Dialogue, Bad at Sports, MuseA, ArtsATL and BurnAway, among others.

Dowda, who was formerly the Executive Director at Atlanta Celebrates Photography, has taught photography at Arizona State University, the University of Iowa and currently is an Assistant Professor of photo and video at Wesleyan College.

The exhibition opens Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. and the juror talk follows at 7 p.m. The exhibition is free to attend and will stay open until Nov. 17, 2023. You can also see smaller, local exhibitions at the Grayson and Norcross branches.
