The Space Crew: Comfortable and Creative Coworking

The gig economy is expanding rapidly, with individuals turning hobbies into businesses. Nearly one in five remote workers struggle with loneliness, and 50% of businesses fail within five years. Space Crew was created to address these issues. Founded in October 2021, Space Crew provides a community space that supports individuals in doing meaningful work.

Community-centric

The Space Crew in Duluth is more than just a coworking space; it’s a community for doers, thinkers and makers. Locally owned and operated, it provides an environment where like-minded individuals can gather, collaborate and grow.

Members often describe the atmosphere as crucial in connecting ideas and fostering professional development. For instance, one member shared how the collaborative environment helped transition their career, emphasizing the community’s role in personal and professional development.

Members can join others for free catered lunches on the last Friday of each month. They can also attend talks by local and industry leaders on the second Thursday of every month at 6 p.m. Non-members can purchase tickets to these talks. On Fridays, members can bring their dogs to work to see if working with pets improves mood and productivity.

Member benefits

Members can enjoy unlimited access to coffee, tea, and snacks which keep members energized throughout the day. Complimentary use of essential facilities like ROOM phone booths, conference rooms and creative studios add significant value.

Additionally, members benefit from complimentary printing and spacious parking, ensuring that their workday proceeds smoothly and efficiently. The coworking space also offers discounts at the Crew Café, providing savings on a variety of offerings from coffee to merchandise.

Creative spaces

The Space Crew is renowned for its versatile and well-equipped creative studios. These spaces cater to creative professionals such as freelance photographers and filmmakers, providing them with the privacy and amenities needed to execute their projects effectively.

One member, a freelance film photographer, praised the space for its comfortable setting that enhances the creative process for both creators and their clients, making it a highly sought-after location in Duluth for creative endeavors.

About Space Crew

Space Crew’s values are grit, growth and giving. The community has persevered through various challenges, including the pandemic. It is a community first and coworking space second, aiming to help people find their callings, get inspired and take practical steps to make their ideas a reality.

Noise concerns

Space Crew understands the need for a quiet workspace. The space is designed to cater to different work preferences through private offices, conference rooms and a phone booth to ensure a quiet workspace.

Event hosting

Space Crew can be rented for events such as community gatherings, conferences, workshops, product launches and photo or video shoots. The staff can arrange catering, audio, lighting, photo booths and other details through preferred vendors. Members receive discounted rates for the Creative and Podcast studios and event space rentals.
