The Duluth Police Department recently introduced the newest addition to their K9 Unit — K9 Ava.

The highly trained yellow Labrador retriever has officially joined the department and is ready to serve alongside her handler, Officer Stubbs.

K9 Ava specializes in tracking and trailing — skills that will be instrumental in locating missing persons, including lost children, and tracking potential suspects in critical situations.

Her training and keen sense of smell will enhance the department’s ability to respond swiftly and effectively in emergencies, further strengthening their commitment to public safety.

Officer Stubbs has completed an extensive training program to work with K9 Ava and is excited to put their combined skills to use in service and protecting the city of Duluth.
