Scepter Brownlee named Head Boys Basketball Coach and Will Munley named Head Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach
Greater Atlanta Christian School has announced the hiring of two new coaches. Will Munley has joined the GAC family as head varsity boys lacrosse coach while Scepter Brownlee takes on the role of head coach for the boys basketball team.
Both men come to the school with glowing reviews and years of athletic and coaching experience.
Scepter Brownlee
“After a long and detailed search, we are excited to announce Scepter Brownlee as our next head boys basketball coach,” GAC Athletic Director, Tim Hardy shared.
“With a deep knowledge of the game and a passion for developing young people, Coach Brownlee has trained and coached [both] collegiate and high school players. A man of high character, he will combine his deep Christian faith and strong leadership skills to direct all levels of our program.”

Coach Brownlee joins GAC after leading Calvary Day School in Savannah, Georgia to back-to-back GHSA Sweet 16 appearances. This past season, Calvary finished 13-0 in region play, produced four first team all-region players and featured both the Region Player of the Year and the Defensive Player of the Year.
Collegiate experience
Brownlee’s experience also spans men’s and women’s NCAA Division I programs, including coaching roles at the University of Tennessee, Georgia State, Southeast Missouri State, Old Dominion and Mississippi State.
Coach Bruce Pearl of Auburn University said, “Working with Scepter at the University of Tennessee, I could tell early on that his drive and mission to treat people well would take him far in this profession. I’m extremely proud of the man and coach he has become.”
In a statement released by GAC, Cuonzo Martin, head men’s basketball coach at Missouri State, agreed. “Scepter brings a passion and attention to detail that will raise the standard of GAC basketball. He has shown a great ability to lead young men to victory — and to the One who conquered victory for us all.”
In addition to his collegiate work, Brownlee has also served as assistant athletic director and boys varsity basketball coach at King’s Ridge Christian School and as the director of student life at Calvary Day School. He’s ready to bring all of that experience to his position at GAC.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to coach at an elite private Christian school where I can lead with my faith and coach with passion and intention,” said Brownlee. “Greater Atlanta Christian is a special place, and I’m humbled to be part of its academic prowess, basketball tradition and Christ-centered community.”
Will Munley
Coach Munley is joining GAC after launching and leading a successful program at Hebron Christian Academy, where he served as head coach since 2022.
Previously, he was an assistant coach for North Gwinnett High School, the University of Georgia club team and within the Team 91 organization. Munley is also the founder of the Elevate Lacrosse Academy and co-founder of Crown Lacrosse.

A native of Greenville, South Carolina, he played collegiate lacrosse at Mercyhurst North East and Tennessee Wesleyan University and was a two-time team captain at both institutions.
At Mercyhurst, Munley was a standout attackman who set program records in scoring and assists, leading the team to its two most successful seasons in school history. At TWU, he earned all-conference honors and received the prestigious Stan Harrison Award as the university’s Most Valuable Athlete in 2015.
Coach Munley also currently competes at the international level for the Slovakia Men’s National Team.
In his three seasons at Hebron Christian Academy, Munley compiled an impressive 36-19 record, with yearly playoff appearances, including two Sweet Sixteen runs. Under his leadership, Hebron produced over 20 all-area selections, 12 all-Gwinnett-County players, four all-state honorees and three collegiate lacrosse players.

Coach Munley shared his excitement for joining the Spartan community:
“I am extremely blessed and excited to step into the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach role at Greater Atlanta Christian School. I want to thank Athletic Director Tim Hardy and President Scott Harsh for believing in my vision and passion for the game as the next leader of the program at GAC.”
“My goal is to lead young men closer to Christ through the game I love,” he added. “The lacrosse program at GAC is well-known in Gwinnett County and around the state. I will work to ensure this program continues to flourish and compete at the highest levels in the state and nationally. Stepping on campus, I immediately knew GAC was a special place with special people. I’m honored to be part of the school’s mission.”
