The Norcross Founders Club will present its free “Beyond the Books,” a Gwinnett County Public Library (GCPL) event in Lillian Webb Park on April 30, 2 p.m.-5 p.m., to promote the many resources that make up the public library of today.

Families are invited to be part of a drone photo shoot in the park at 2 p.m., then to participate in the numerous activities that include storytelling and games.

The Norcross library branch staff will also host small group tours inside the library in English and Spanish. Families can check out the community spaces, Learning Labs, Mobile Kitchen, Meeting Rooms and more.

“Our Norcross library branch is a community hub. It is a safe haven for kids, providing after- school homework help, games and book clubs, while also offering computer classes, allowing older adults to stay engaged in a digital world, and so much more,” said Jason DiFranco, GCPL’s Director of Development and Community Relationships.

“The library is a place in which you can learn about any topic of interest or have the ability to escape into a fantasy and fulfill all of your dreams,” he added.

This is a free event with no ticket required. Lillian Webb Park is next to GCPL’s Norcross branch at 5735 Buford Hwy. in Norcross.

The Norcross Founders Club is a group of community members with the goal to support the local GCPL with special projects, equipment and other needs not funded through the county. For more info and to learn how to join the club, contact Chuck Paul at chuck_paul@bellsouth.net.
